Denver Accounting Firm Checks in on the Colorado Rockies

Late March, early April always signals the boys of summer back to the baseball diamond. After a couple of months of spring training under their belts, each team starts off with a record of 0-0 waiting for their shot at the pennant. The Colorado Rockies are no different than the other 29 teams looking to finish as World Series champions. Let’s take a look at the 2014 season for the Rockies.

It all starts at the shortstop position for the Rockies. This is Troy Tulowitzki’s team now after Todd Helton retired at the end of the 2013 season. After an injury plagued 2013 season, Troy is looking to bring back the NL West pennant to the boys in purple. Joining Troy this year is star left fielder Carlos Gonzales. CarGo will give all opposing outfielders fits with his ability to hit well at home and on the road.

As any baseball fan knows, baseball is not all about hitting. Pitching can make or break an entire season. The Rockies are looking very good in their bullpen this year. Set up man, Rex Brothers and newly acquired LaTroy Hawkins look to bring some stability to a shaky, but under-the-radar-starting rotation. The starters include big question marks for this season, but if Jhoulys Chacin and Jorge De La Rosa stay healthy, the season could tilt 10 to 15 wins in our favor this year.

No matter what sport, no team is ever handed the championship at the beginning of the season. While the experts seem to agree that this year will be a tough year for the Rockies, the right pieces are in place for the home team to make an improvement from last year. And who knows, maybe we’ll see another Rocktober in the Mile High City in 2014.

How to use this Information We love a good baseball game at KKB. In fact, one of the many activities we have with our employees is a trip to Coors Field every year. It’s just a small token of our appreciation to our hard working staff. At KKB we believe in enjoying each day, whether it’s with your co-workers, family or clients. Enjoy the baseball season. You never know, the home town team could go the distance this year.

How many games do you think the Rockies will win this year?
