There’s no such thing as a boring day in Colorado. With over 300 days of sunshine, our state always provides a full slate of fun outdoor activities. Mountain biking, golf, or water parks help keep kids busy during summer vacation. Or, if you’re more inclined to keep cool during the spring and summer months, Colorado’s various indoor activities will keep your calendar full of fun activities. The Denver Art Museum, the Denver Mint, or the Museum of Nature and Science provide great breaks from the heat with the bonus of education.With fall around the corner, Coloradoans get the full pleasure of soaking up all colors of autumn. Get away from the city for a couple of days and drive up to the mountains to see the colors turn.

An even better decision is to take an extended trip and visit Telluride.One of the hidden gems of Colorado, Telluride is located in the southwest corner of the state that often gets overlooked by visitors and natives alike. Beyond the ski lifts, Telluride is now widely recognized as an all-season resort. The summer and fall months provide plenty of activity before the slopes become busy. Tourist can enjoy mountain biking, hiking, river rafting, sightseeing and more.

Telluride is famous for its festivals, including the world famous Telluride Film Festival, which takes place at the end of August. There’s also a music festival called, the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival that starts on September 15. This music festival takes place in the heart of the small town surrounded by world class views meant only for a calendar. Get your tickets early, because this three day festival sells out quickly. Rounding out the September calendar is the Mountain to Desert Ride. This ride is for the ultimate rider looking for a challenge with breathtaking views. This one day race is both grueling and rewarding. And it’s for a great cause: the object it to help raise $80,000 for the benefit of the Just For Kids Foundation. The Telluride Horror Show can help you get in the mood for Halloween. This three day fright fest will keep you on the edge of your seat at the historic Sheridan Opera House and Nugget Theater. October 11 – 13 highlights the film festival’s 4th year, and it’s sure to bring a fright to any fan of horror films. Summer’s almost over but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the lovely Colorado landscape. And Telluride is no slouch at delivering some of Colorado’s finest and best activities.
