Check Out the Breckenridge Spring Fever Festival

Take a break from city life and welcome spring to Colorado in a fun and thrilling way. Beginning March 17th and running through April 14th, the town of Breckenridge, Colorado will throw its annual Breck Spring Fever Festival. This festival is the largest event of its kind and features contests, camps, concerts and more.

Check out the freestyle snowboarding and skiing at Park and Pipe Camp which is scheduled for the weekend of March 22nd through 24th. Children’s camp is $350 for 2 days and includes freestyle lessons, lunch, exhilarating activities and group photos. The Park and Pipe Camp for adults includes lessons for 3 days, breakfasts, lunches, giveaways and a festive dinner party for $850. The classes, taught by certified freestyle specialists, are geared toward freestylers at intermediate levels and above.

Celebrate Easter at the Breck Spring Fever Festival. The evening before Easter, golden eggs filled with money, candy and prizes will be hidden all over the town of Breckenridge to be hunted. People off all ages are invited to join in the fun! Catch the ski lift at 6:00 a.m. Easter morning and observe a beautiful Easter Sunrise Service at the top of the mountain. The ski lift is free for the Sunrise Service (you will not be able to bring your skis or snowboard equipment). After the service, strap on your skis or snowboard and explore the mountain, where 10,000 Easter eggs packed with prizes and treats are waiting to be found.

Punxsutawney Phil may not have seen his shadow but the mountain is still covered in snow, making the ultimate backdrop for some of the most intense Colorado events -- the Breck Spring Fever Competitions. Watch professional snowboarders do tricks on a 22-foot halfpipe. If you’re feeling brave, why not participate in the “Imperial Challenge”. This event is a bike ride followed by scaling the mountain in full ski gear and then racing back down. Other challenges include races up the mountain, a mountain scavenger hunt and ice hockey games. Kids are also invited to compete in their own ski or snowboard race.

Special lodging deals are available during the Breck Spring Fever Festival so leave the winter doldrums behind and come to the Rockies. Breckenridge is only two hours from Denver.
